Be gentle with yourself, you're doing the best you can

Just a friendly reminder to be kind to yourself. We get so focused on not only our expectations of ourselves, but other’s expectations of us that we sometimes forget to take a breather. My mom used to tell me that you can only love someone else as much as you love yourself. This was sage advice that every ‘caretaker’ needs to hear. So today my unsolicited advice to you is to take a moment for yourself, even if it’s just a few stolen, but ever-so-quiet moments, before you drift off to sleep.

Short and sweet post today as my energy is akin with the low battery warning on your phone. But before I go, a few more of my little doodles and watercolors as I follow along with the daily prompt on World Watercolor Group on Instagram.

  1. I agree. There will already be enough hurtful things happening in our lives, and we don’t need to add to that pain. Being kind to ourselves will make it easier to get through these hurtful things.

    Also, I’m grateful for your moon and stars painting, since it helped calm me down from thinking about how scary the vastness of space was. Then I got to thinking about how the solar system needed to form for us to have this earth to live on, and the universe needed to form for the solar system to form, so space is actually something to be grateful for 🙂
